Hello,

i just bought a new notebook. I'm using 3ds max 2024 and corona 12. Everytime I try to start render, it freezes on parsing scene and doesn't move any further. This happens with every file. Restarting doesn't help. The same files renders perfectly on my pc with max 2024 and corona 11. Tried to search the forum, but none of the topics suited my case. I suppose it has sth to do with my render settings, but I have no idea what it could be. Memory and pcu usage is fine - up to 20-40%. Does somebody know what's the issue?

Hi, can you please list full hardware specifications of your laptop and the PC?
How much RAM do you have on your laptop?

"Memory and pcu usage is fine - up to 20-40%" - memory usage at 20-40% is great, but CPU should never be running at 20-40% when rendering. It should be 100%. Could you please double check the numbers in the Windows Task Manager? (preferably share screenshots captured during unsuccessful rendering)

P.S. Nice nickname :D

Hi, thanks :)

notebook:
CPU: Intel core i9 14900H
GPU: nvidia geforce 4060
ram: 64:gb

PC:
CPU: Intel core i9-9900K
GPU: nvidia geforce gtx 1650
RAM: 32gb

cpu usage in attachment.

I tried to run render on some of my old projects and it worked. After that I merged the new project to the old one, and the problem comes back.

The issue was fixed after removing the legacy Mental Ray assets through the 3ds Max Scene Converter. We will see if we can at least prevent freezing/crashing in this case.
