Hi
I was wondering if we could have the same control for rendering limit in Production and Interactive
In production we have
Pass limit
Time limit
Noise level limit
But in Interactive we only have Max passes, I dont know how many passes do I need, it would depend on the scene, I prefer to use noise level or time limit
I think it would be better if we could have the same control for both of them.
Also, something that always bothers me is having Interactive rendering in another tab, could we have it in the same place?

Hi,

Interactive render is more like in-process rendering, that is why it doesn't have the same rendering limits. For example if you zoom in to a portion during IR, only that part is rendered and passes, and noise levels, get biased by that part - but during production render there is no such behavior.
What is a practical case where you would need noise level instead of passes?

For interactive rendering limits being on another tab - this is the first time anyone bring this up, which actually makes sense, but it has been like this for years, now many users are used to it :)

Hi Aram
Like I said, I dont know how it would be the behaivior of the passes, it always will deppend of the scene, sometimes 10 passes will be more than enough or it would require more, having an specific time or noise level I could know when its gonna stop so render history can be saved automatically, instead of waiting for i dont know how much time would take to finish the rest of the passes.

And for the interactive tab, well if many users are use to it, it doesnt mean that they would apreciate the change, I know alot of Corona users that doesnt even know where are some of the settings, especially because they dont use it, they doesnt even know that we can assign an automatic saving for the render history or that you can change the tooltips langauge or many other of the settings that are "hidden" in the system tab. For what I have seen many users are very happy of what u give them specially when you dont need to click on anything, in my case I like having everything in order.

Im more a Vray user but with the newest daily I wanted to give it a try and I loved what u have done for this version, I would like Corona to improve so we can have a better experience using it, because I ussually havent.

I already mentioned the difference and the bias IR can bring to statistics. For any rendering limits - you do not know any of them unless you render and see how it goes, which can be translated either to time limit, noise level or pass limit. There is a separate time interval for autosave too, I am sure you are aware of this.

Vray and Corona are different renderers for difference specific needs. Corona will not be made to be like VRay, and VRay won't be made like Corona. Even though you consider yourself a VRay man, you just have to get fimilar with "Corona way" of things while using Corona and I am sure you will like it, just like many other Corona users. You are always free and welcome to choose the renderer you like to work with.

Hi Aram
Believe me, I have tried to get familiar with Corona over the years, and simply I dont like it too much
Im just asking if you can add some features that i think it will improve Corona so Vray users could get more atracted to it, but ok, i have already discussed this kind of suggestions before and developers doesnt seem to like some ideas, ok i tried, cheers.

By default, IR has no pass limit, so you can just keep rendering until you stop manually. The pass limit is there to lower your CPU load (and pay lower electricity bills).
I cannot see any specific reason in this thread why noise or time limit would be useful in IR. Can you share some practical examples?
