Hi guys, I have problem with creating Corona material for large area of a Saudi Arabia desert. I don't want to sculpt whole desert in zbrush with lot of geometry so I thought it would be nice to know how to create perfect material as an imitation of a large sand dunes. With the displace map and small geometry. Does someone knows how to approach this kind of material?

Hi,

I've never had to work on sandy landscape, but I'd try by using this map (free download):
https://www.poliigon.com/texture/wavy-sand-texture/6997

I know it's meant to be for a small surface of 9sqm, but given the appearance of such dunes is pretty fractal, it may work for larger areas as well.
Give it a try.

Hi,

It all depends on the final look and needed detail (close-up for from far).

Starting with some kind of material/base will be good, so just give it a go by approaching as with any other material.
