Hi all! At work, most of our exterior visuals are made with Vray. However, after doing some exteriors in Corona, our Post-production (Photoshop) team is asking for a render element that could be the equivalent of the Vray Raw Total Lighting in Corona. So far, I have tested most of the render elements there are (all the Raw Components elements, for example) but our post-production team can't still get the same result.

For context: this render element is used mostly to replace the 3d grass with a real picture of grass. Then the lighting/shadow info is used on top of it to blend it well into the 3d render.
I attach a couple of examples of the Vray render element for your reference. (I had to blur the buildings a little bit for confidentiality issues, the important thing about these is the grass, though)

Which Corona render element could provide the same info to be used is Photoshop?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Avi! Thanks a lot for your quick response and the test.

Indeed, for the buildings and most of the scene objects the C_Shading_RawComponent seems to be the same as the Vray Raw Total Lighting. However, I get a very different result when there's grass on the scene (which is the element I need this element for).

I attach an example of how it looks with the grass, you can compare with the examples from Vray I posted above. Is there something I'm setting up in the wrong way? I also tried by checking off the Raw Component_Diffuse; _Reflect; _Indirect and _Direct, however I haven't been able to achieve a similar look.

The closest I've been so far on my tests was to override a CoronaPhysicalMtl just on the grass (I excluded the rest of the elements on my model) while keeping the opacity and using the Raw Component only with the diffuse checked on (with the default RawComponent it looks black; attached Example 2 and 3). However my colleagues from the post-production team are not convinced yet, they say it's better but not the same.

For info: the grass model I'm using is from Quixel.

Thanks in advance once again for your help, it's a very important issue to solve for me since I want to keep using Corona for the exteriors.

Kindest regards!
