Can't do perspective match

I have been trying to do perspective match in 3ds max. But I can't control the vanishing lines properly as shown in YouTube tutorials. It feels like every vanishing line is being affected if I move the handle of a vanishing line. I sometimes lose my reference object too. Can someone suggest me a good tutorial for perspective match or tell me what I am doing wrong? I will appreciate the help. Thank you! I have attached a GIF of how the vanishing line reacts.

Hi,

Simply try to match the handles to their correct axis lines and if your reference object is going out of the frame then consider zooming out the camera or moving the object so it is in front of the camera. It is normal for the objects on the viewport to move when you change the axis handles. It takes a bit of trial-error and practise to perfectly nail the camera match to your Images.

Thank you for your reply. All the lines cannot be aligned with the reference photo at the same time. If two axis matches, moving the 3rd one mess it up.

Perspective match can be tricky if the photo has been modified - it might have been stretched and shifted.

Try getting a good base of matched perspective, then play around with the horizontal and vertical shift. That may help.

Hmm, I'm not sure if this is going to help, but:
Remember that to get portrait photos in real life you have to rotate your camera. (or by cropping a landscape photo, but then you wouldn't be able to match it)

Rotating the coronacam 90 degrees instead of switching the height/width in render settings has helped me match some photos in the past. Not sure if this would play well with the perspective match tool, but worth a try? :)
