The news is that there will not be Chaos Cloud Rendering from Corona. There will however be Chaos Cloud Collaboration, and we hope to have that implemented in Corona 13 later this year.

I am very saddened to hear there won't be Cloud for Corona. Why is that? Any chance to reevaluate this decision?

There are technical complexities in making it work, which mean it would be a very time-consuming task to implement. Everything can always be re-evaluated, but right now there are no plans for it and re-evaluating wouldn't be until next year at the earliest (just to avoid raised expectations).

What's the latest on Chaos Cloud?  I don't remember hearing much about that, but only just came across it because I'm researching ways to host 360 pano tour.  ( I aslo made a separate post in this regards).

Not sure on what you mean by the latest :) Chaos Cloud does indeed offer Virtual Tours, with Automatic Hotspot Generation, making it a nice (and free) way to give 360 pano tours (or VR tours) to your clients, and for them to give those to their intended audience. The Virtual Tours there have additional features such as Tags (like hotspots, but they open up information rather than move you to a new viewpoint). I really like the Virtual Tours and wish they'd been around wayyyyy back when I was freelancing!

Then there's the usual Collaboration, letting you share images with your clients, where they and you can then have "conversations" back and forth by highlighting parts of the image.

The AI Image Enhancer is also technical part of Chaos Cloud too, so that's new. The controls for that, over on the Cloud side, will be getting an upgrade soon to give more flexibility in what you can do with it. And there are more things coming soon, in a beta stage at least, keep an eye out for those :)

Hope that answers your question!

While still currently true, we could reconsider Cloud Rendering if there is demand for it (AHA Ideas Portal, add or vote :) ). That said, even if it is chosen for development it would not happen "soon" as it would take about 2 release cycles to implement, given the complexity of making it work (so if we started work on it today, it would appear in Corona 16 at the end of next year....). Just letting you know, to manage expectations. Meantime, do let us know on the Ideas Portal how many would like to have Cloud Rendering implemented, especially compared to existing options of internal or external third-party render farms.
