Hey guys, I've been experimenting with Corona for a while, and have been impressed by it's capabilities.

We produce CG jewellery mainly for our customers, so we took a popular ring design and produced a 360 looping animation of it rotating on a plain studio. Here are the results.

We also produced a black version

As a comparison, our previous studio was using Mental Ray, here it is for reference:

(mental ray)

They do look very different, although the goal when using Corona was not to mimic it perfectly, but instead to provide a different feel and style which I believe we've achieved. The mental ray rendering feels much more like a catalogue shot and we find that works well, and we're using Corona instead to give a more photorealistic feel.

Very much looking forward to continuing working with Corona in the future.

EDIT: Not having much luck embedding these videos from Vimeo, any help?

I much prefer MR version, but only because of dof.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.
