Can you limit the distance of reflection? Its not an issue of speed or resources but of realism. Specifically with chrome material. I get these reflections from all the way across a room and it is highly unrealistic. The best workaround I have found is checking the visible to reflections in the 3ds Max object properties dialogue. There has to be a better way to deal with highly reflect metal materials? Low resolution examples attached.

I'd say this is not an issue with reflection distance, just with the material. These look like the materials are set to have an IOR that is too high, and a Roughness that is too low, making them reflect like near perfect mirrors. Lowering IOR, raising Roughness (or lowering Glossiness, depending on your chosen workflow for the material), or raising the Reflection Tail (if you are using Corona 8 - I find the Tail really good for metals!) would be my first steps. Then I'd likely also add some imperfections via a subtle bump map, and probably some imperfections to the Roughness via a map too.
