Hi,
I have a problem with shadow under ceiling, see picture.
Some idea what is the source of this shadow or how to clear off it?

Cinema 4D R20

Thank you.

Do your walls and ceiling have thickness? (They need to have, just like in the real world, so if they don't, add some thickness and see if it resolves the problem as the first step)

If that does not resolve the issue (or they already have thickness), does it go away when you turn off some particular light source? If you hide all objects except walls, floor and ceiling? If you use a material override so that everything uses only the default grey material (you can use Preserve Glass to keep light coming in through windows)?

And then which version of Corona are you using, also?

Of course walls have thickness. The room was build by Python house generator. Bud the all room has wery small scale.
I use only corona physical sky as light source. In empty room shadow remains.

Corona renderer 5 hotfix 2

Thanks.

I don't know anything about the Python house generator or what type of geometry it constructs. Also not sure what you mean by very small scale, how small? :) Might be worth scaling the scene up to real world units, which is always better in general anyway. Mostly I am thinking geometry issue still especially with the geo coming from some generator (what happened when using a material override by the way?), you can always upload the scene for us to take a look at (private uploader link in my signature).

That is very odd indeed. It seems like that dark edge is a pattern. You can clearly see it and since the light source seems to be a large window or glass doors, that would not explain a "shadow" on all sides of the room.

On the scale issue. Before Corona, I would sometimes use Global Illumination with the Physical Render. One thing C4D people always said, was to try a make your scenes in real-world scale. It calculated the shadows and AO effects much more realistically. One trick so you don't try and drag-scale everything. Go to the Project Settings. There you will find a Scale option. I would select the room and have your size pallet visible. When you change the scale, you will see the dimensions in the pallet change, but you won't really see anything in the view window.

Another question I have is WHY are you still using v5 of Corona? I mean you're are paying for it at that point, but you are not getting the latest and greatest version with new features, LOTS of fixes and way more stable. I still use C4D r20 sometimes and it runs v8 perfectly.

OK, I think I'm done now.

Yes, real scale realy improved the scene. Now the shadows disappeared.

Thank you all.
