Hi there,

When I remove a texture (bitmap) from the diffuseslot which was applied to be seen in the viewport, it doesn't update and somehow seems to be cached to the object. The only thing to change this is to re-apply a new CoronaMtl

These steps reproduce the problem:

1. Create a box
2. apply a CoronaMtl with a random color
3. insert a bitmap in the diffuse slot and make it visible in the viewport
4. delete the bitmap by dragging an empty slot into the diffuse slot and you see that it remains in the viewport.

EDIT: added the line: by dragging an empty slot into the diffuse slot in line 4 for a proper representation of the error

The strange thing is that when you apply another shader and go back to the previous shader (the one with the deleted diffuse texture) the deleted texture shows up again as if it is cached.

And did you delete that bitmap as removing it completely/clear... Or did you just uncheck it's use in the list of maps? Cause if the bitmap is there, just not being used (unchecked/small m symbol) then it will still appear as long as you have checked "show in wievport" on the bitmap slot itself..

hi there,

Thanks for the reply because it narrows it down a bit more.

I got into the habit of clearing the bitmap by dragging an empty slot from another label into it which in the corona mat editor is often the translucency slot which is right below it. This also deletes the bitmap but somehow Corona doesn't seem to like it that way and I get strange errors.

when using the RMB and press "clear" everything works the way it supposed to do. So I think I have to correct my usual workflow of deleting maps by "clearing" instead of overwrite it with an empty slot elsewhere.

Is there any action on this topic, because I think it's a bug and other users might also run into some issues with this.

The problems occurs when clearing a texture slot when you drag an empty slot into it. I don't get this error when using MR so my guess it's Corona specific.

I am unable to reproduce it with dragging an empty slot. Can you maybe record a video of the action? Also I would like to know which 3dsmax version are you using.
