Inspired by Bertrand's "sad doodles" I made couple (rather useless) procedural metal/rock/meteorite type of renders.

What can I say, I'm a fan of the detail and everything. Really like to look at these things :)

If it was, it would not look as good :)

Damn, I knew you'd ask! ;)

it's one of Maxime Roz's free hdri's. This particular one is called "canada_montreal_nad_photorealism", great for probing, testing...etc

Every time I start a new thread in gallery section I feel super guilty (it's dead anyway) so maybe I just continue here :)

Next daily dose of useless/pointless stuff. This one I called "Microbiota" and it is my loose approach to Scanning electron microscope type of photography. Obviously made for fun and practice (who would've asked for such renders anyway?)

Hope you'll enjoy it

Ouch, does everyone 3ds Max user has this nastiness in his blood? Is there a way to get rid of it?

Nice work, nasty bacillus!

I'm afraid it's already in our bloodstream, we all got it even though autodesk sucks our blood immensely. The only cure I can think of is blender but it's too late for most of us...

I think blender users are getting infected with even nastier strain, it's called suzannus horrificus. There's literally no escape.

Looks great.

I'm just thinking that the microscope shot camera may have the wrong camera settings. I can some perspective there between the teapots, and it looks like the camera is placed somewhere between them, very close to the surface. If that was a microscope the distance of the camera to the objects would be very big taking the scale in consideration. So it would rather remind a very long focal length shot, with no perspactive\size changes between these little objects. The DOF would be very shallow though as in your render.

This is just my impression, I would need to check on it and I'm not sure what effect you were aiming for.

Anyway, very cool experiment, I hope you will show more stuff :)
