I bought last version of corona a month ago and now I have a problem with corona and distributed renders.

I make an overview of our PCs:

on 2 a version of corona workstation has been installed and the others are used as a node. 3 of these have 32GB of ram while the PC hosting the backburner queue has 48GB.

the 2 PCs with corona workstations cannot render: cpu at 0%, ram and ssd disk at 100%, and they perform half the passes compared to the others that render normally, but being the less performing they carry the single render (minimum size A3 ) at a timeframe of 20 hours.

a RAM upgrade to at least 64 GB for all PCs could help, or do you think the problem is due to something else?

thanks

for the help

Hi,

This does indeed sound like a problem caused by low memory. I would either try to simplify the scene somehow or recommended upgrading your RAM.

hi rowmanns, thanks for reply,

we usually also work with more complicated scenes, so in your opinion how much RAM we need to be able to work safely.

thanks

Hi,

That is a good question and I can't give you some specific number. You should be getting a low memory warning message from Corona when rendering which will tell you how much memory Corona needs to allocate for that specific scene so that might be a good place to start.

Alternatively it could be worth looking/asking on the hardware section of the forums :)

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Rowan
