Hi

I struggle with displacement which is baked from high-poly mesh to low-poly.
I get always artifacts along the edges. In this case, I used the C4D tool for baking but I get the same when I use a different software.
C4D nativ render result to compare. I get similar artifacts with C4D when I activate "Round Geometry" in the displacement channel.

Do you have a hint for me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks and have a nice weekend!

Would you care posting the scene to investigate?

As the original tif file for displacement has around 100mb, I loaded it into Affinity Photo and exported it again as a 16bit tiff. (only 5mb now)
I rendered again with C4D standard renderer and look, something similar to what I get with Corona. Edges clearly visible. See image a
So I exported it again as a 16bit png and the edges disappeared. Note that the png has a linear color profile and the tiff has not. (I don't understand why...) See image b

Image c to compare. Edges are visible in both cases.
Could it also be a color profile issue? If someone has a hint, I would be very glad :)

I think it's a shading bug on UV island boundaries and developers may want to look into. IIRC, I already observed this strange kind of behavior.

Hi, had someone from Corona the time to look into it? Do you have a solution or is it reported as a bug?

Thanks!

Hi, I have been looking into this over the past week and still haven't been able to find the reasoning as to why this is happening. I will continue to do so and I'll try and update you as quickly as I can.
