Hello,
I've been struggling with this problem ever since i started using corona a year ago, mostly when i use HDRI or something else in  reflection override in Render Settings, some or most of reflective surfaces like mirrors or car paint or chrome material gets too noisy  and many fireflies appear even at low noise level, that picture on left noise level is around 1.8% i don't think it that material is supposed to look like that

and another example of the same problem, as you can see there are a lot  of fireflies in car material which is from corona material library, this problem was fixed when i unchecked reflections override in environment tab and use the original source hdri as main lighting and reflection source

This is known issue - using HDRI in reflection/refraction override may cause persistent fireflies: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000516180-known-bugs-and-limitations The solution is to use low dynamic range images for overrides.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.
