hey guys i am new to corona render and i love this render engine after coming from vray, but right now the only thing that seems to be broken is the caustics solver for any scene I use no matter what it is. The problem with the caustics solver is that it takes double the time to render but not only that it produces splotches and fireless all over the image that will not go away no matter with many passes (100+) especially with curved shiny metal. As soon as i just uncheck the  caustics solver the images come out perfect with no noise difference per frame for animations which is one of the major problems with the caustics solver it produces a different noise pattern from frame to frame even when using the flicker free UHD cache setting and using lock noise pattern and using many passes and I am using the HQ denoiser not even the AI denoisers and it still flickers I even tried using the path tracing unbiased engine for the secondary solver and still does not work and the noise is still different and still does not go away with 100+ passes. if I turn off the caustics solver all of a sudden my images are noise free with no flicker at half the render time. Please fix this caustics solver problems in final version 6 release. I am using version 5 hotfix 1 with 3ds max 2021 by the way and i am using this scene which can be purchased at this link: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/classic-interior-3d-model/1141353

I will post pictures with the frames I am talking about soon!

Another thing I noticed too when using the caustics solver is you have to use insane passes to even remotely clean up the image like 3 times the passes if you left it off which is a major problem for people like me that want to do animations

Sorry for the delay!

it takes double the time to render

it produces a different noise pattern from frame to frame

These two things are expected and are the limitations of the technology we are using to generate caustics. We've never concealed this information, it's even stated in the release blog post:
https://corona-renderer.com/blog/corona-renderer-4-for-3ds-max-released/

There are some caustics improvements in the V6 dailies, it may be worth checking out in your scene: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000570015-corona-renderer-for-3ds-max-daily-builds

but not only that it produces splotches and fireless all over the image that will not go away no matter with many passes (100+) especially with curved shiny metal

This shouldn't be happening, unless the scene is very complex and/or tricky for the caustics to calculate. Could you please send us an example scene like this? Here is the uploader: https://corona-renderer.com/upload
Remember to let us know (preferably here) which upload method you used and what was the name of the file you uploaded.
