Hi Evryone,

Wondering if someone can help me find a way to save Corona Layered Material to my C4D preset library.

I am not having problems saving and loading , for instance, the standard “Corona Material” in my C4D Preset Library. But As soon as I save the Corona Layered Material, with the corresponding Corona Materials I see that they are not included in the Layers, even if I drag and drop the “Corona Layered Material” plus it’s Base Material and layers materials to my project from the C4D preset library.

This is to Precess step by step (see attached images for better understanding):

1- I drag and drop, The coronal Layered material plus its “Corona Materials” (see image 1 & 2) into my  C4D preset library(See Image 3, Inside the blue box the Corona standard Material Inside the red box Corona Layered Material). All Textures associated are in the tex folder

2 - I open a new Project select the 3 Materials and drag and drop them to Material Manager and notice that the Corona Layered material dose not have the Materials loaded to it’s layers( see image. 4 & 5) , so I have to do this manually.

I know its fine to re link the materials in the Corona Layered material, but If you have a Large scene with mutable Layered Materials, things can get messy really fast.

My questions are:
- Is there a better way to save and organise Corona Layered materials in C4D ?
- Am I setting this up totally wrong ?
- Is there any Workaround, that does not force me to add those material layers manually ?

Thanks, and Hope that someone can help.

Hey,

you can try the following and see if this works for you?

1. create blank scene
2. create your layered material with depending corona materials
3. save scene somewhere on your harddrive
4. load scene from harddrive into content browser
5. from content browser load into the scene you are currently working on

There are two downsides to this. First, you can't drag and drop it directly onto objects and second, you have to create a manual preview for the content browser as the automatic preview will show an empty scene.

Maybe somebody else has a better approach?

Best,
