Build timestamp: Feb 21 2014 20:47:16
Maxsdk version: 2013

Well, this bug is quite strange. Not sure if i can describe it properly, but i'll try. Currently i'm working on scene with CAT rig and animation in it. Initially it was created and saved with A5. When i opened scene in max with daily build of Corona, i get "WTF. Error In Listbox" message. Exposure and color mapping tab of that scene looked strange (see attachment). I corrected broken values, putted back hdri in enviroment tab and hit render button. But render came out pitch black. And there was no way to make render it normal. I tried to add corona sky, corona sun, lights, adjust exposure, but nothing didn't work - total darkness. I found that only solution was to switch to other renderer and then back to corona, then fully restore all render settings. After that, scene rendered correctly, but... MUCH slower than it was in A5 (1M r/s vs 3M r/s). Now, i deleted all CAT objects and animations, saved scene and when i openned it in max with daily build, i get same wtf error and was unable to render it. But when i fully reset render settings, scene rendered with same speed as in A5 (without CAT).

I can provide this scene to Keymaster if needed, but not publicly.

this is not related to the CAT rig, but scene save/load between corona versions. You can solve your rpoblems by merging into new scene, I will try to find a better fix

But other scenes converted without problems and most importantly doesn't show any slowdown in rendering.

Edit: btw, merging that scene doesn't work - max crash instantly, but thats, most likely, not related to Corona.

I did quite numerous tests today and found that indeed CAT has nothing to do with it. It's just in that one particular scene, transition from A5 to dailies went badly. So case closed, i think. Sorry for disturbance.

Update: looks like i found whats causing so massive hit on performance in that particular scene. It's motion blur. Once i dissable MB, rays per second are back to ~3M and results is on par with A5. I did additional tests to ensure that MB doesn't have any significant impact in other scenes and looks like everything ok, only that scene has problems. It's a pity, because i need MB in that animation pretty badly :[

I remember there was some bug with some world space modifier that cause drastic slowdown. Maybe, this will be a similar problem. Best bet would be to send Keymaster a scene.

I gladly would do that, but i don't want to share it publicly. Could you remind me where i can put that scene privately, thanks.

Update2: i just read in Corona wiki, that use of "nonrigid (deformation) motion blur" causing significant drop of rays per second. Did a quick test and found, that it's exactly my case. So no bug, i guess. I wonder is it permanent limitation or it can be solved in future releases?

p.s. strangely enough A5 seems doesn't suffered from that, but i should do more tests to be sure.

I tried improving the speed, but it became much slower instead. I will fix it before A6

I can confirm that - latest build translates this scene flawlessly. But now max crashes instantly as soon as moving object appears in frame. Maybe it's related with motion blur somehow?

Yesterday i was testing something with Corona and CAT, on 2015, and it seams that corona is rendering CAT icon as geometry.... (The triangle icon with an arrow). Tried it on Scanline and it's not rendering that icon. I was using Corona 7.2... Not a big deal, i can just hide the CAT node (But i can turn it non-renderable on properties cause for Max it is not a geometry, i guess).
