I need to make the shadow on the plane with shadow catcher material on it less intense. I tried to reduce the visibility of the plane in its object properties but it doesn't work. The intensity of the shadow stays the same. How can I solve this problem? Is there a hidden option I can't find?
Thank you!

Have you tried changing "shadow amount" in the shadowcatcher's settings? :)

Yes. I tried different values. The min value 0,1 and the max value 10. Doesn't work:(

So the goal here is to change the intensity of the shadow? (basically make it darker or brighter in the alpha channel) - right?
Are you using the "for compositing" mode and want to work on the image in post (e.g. add a photo backplate or solid color background), or are you using the shadowcatcher with a photo backplate inside 3ds Max?

Yes. my goal is to make the shadow brighter in the alpha channel for compositing on a solid background  in photoshop.

The only idea I have is rendering an additional mask for the shadowcatcher object. So you just add a CMasking_Mask render element, pick your shadowcatcher object, and render this. This way you can select the shadowcatcher (which contains shadows, but does not contain the shadow-casting object) and adjust its transparency. Does it work for you?

It works! Thank you! But it is a longer way. It is really strange for me that the visibility in object properties don't affect the transparency of the shadow catcher object. It works with Vray, whyanot with corona. It would be great if the corona team could change it someday.

you could edit the  alpha maps in photoshop with a curves adjustment so that the greys of your shadow have less contribution.

Thanks mferster!
This art of alpha channel editing works gut. Post-production must be:)
