Perched high on the Maparasha Hills, an idyllic country setting strewn with boulders and olive trees, Enkorika shrine was erected by evangelists on mission to reach Africa’s unreached but sadly finding converts was quite the challenge in this sparsely populated region. One year ago the minimalist structure was left abandoned and is being taken over by immense greenery. The owners have been trying to sell the place, but they haven’t found a buyer yet. Enkorika Shrine was designed to coexist with nature in harmony. The shrine was thought out as a large tent, with open doors to everyone, at all times: a constant welcoming point for shelter, meditation and spiritual nourishment.
