I actually love the post work done on these. even more limited dynamic range. gives very soft and mild feel to the images. impressive.

Lovely work. Super crisp. Super light, nice tonemapping, great colours and composition. Super clean.

C4D, right?
Good job!

Edit: ah, now I see, you wrote that you work with C4D-Corona.

The reason I asked is because I still see a strong difference in the realism of lighting and/or materials between CoronaMAX and CoronaC4D.

What do the devs actually say???

Hey, yes I do work with Cinema4D. Normally there should be no differences in both softwares. The most amazing archviz projects are mostly done from max users, maybe thats the reason, why it looks like.

What the devs would actually say is that the software is identical when it comes to the rendering core, so materials and lighting are calculated the same. The differences come in "extensions" beyond that, e.g. the C4D Corona has the Node Editor to make up for the lack of one in C4D itself, but doesn't have Scatter since C4D has Mograph (which is something Max doesn't have).

Hey Tom, thanks for your point. The differences you mentioned... I am aware of.
I was referring to the overall look in renders. Light, materials, etc.

I just cannot get rid of the impression that most C4D+Corona renders somehow look more artificial than Max+Corona. A bit more "plastic-ish".
Could it be that most Max users are simply better at rendering and post? :)))

No difference in the engine and what it does, so it must come down to how people use it - bear in mind that people have been using it in Max for more years than people have been using it in C4D; combine that with a difference in user groups between the two, archviz folks have been using Max while I would say archviz in C4D is smaller and only growing more recently. As for evidence of that, I'd check what Slashcube has been doing for years with C4D, https://slashcube.ch/works/, and what David Turfitt has been doing, https://www.davidturfitt.com/ (nothing plastic-y there ;) ). EDIT Slashcube and David are both Corona for C4D users, so it illustrates that it's differences in users and not C4D vs Max Corona differences :)

(Just as a note, all the lighting calculations etc. are in the Corona Core - called the Core because it's the beating heart of Corona, and is the same in all software, be it Max or ARCHICAD or C4D or Standalone; the differences and complexities come in hooking the core into the surrounding UI and API of the host application).

Hey Tom, thanks for the time you took to answer.

I know those guys´ 3D work ad basically agree. Also Angelo Ferretti does great things in C4D+Corona.
Probably it is like you said... Max-folks have simply been much longer in Archiviz than average C4D users, so certain tricks & techniques have evolved further.

Most welcome! And yes, I think that is the reason for any apparent differences in images :)

Fantastic work.
Me as a c4d user myself can only be jealous of the quality in materials and lighting you manage to produce. Hope one day I can achieve this myself.
