Hi,

Since updating to Corona 5 on my workstation I have encountered this problem in I would say 75% of my max scenes when I hit render.

In the rendering dialogue, when the current task gets to Computing sec. GI the progress bar will get to around 90% and then just hold. the time elapsed keeps increasing but essentially max has crashed. Hitting stop or cancel doesn't do anything and I have to stop Max in the Task Manager. This is happening on the simplest and lightest scenes. I have tested it with just one piece of small geometry and it still happens. Only since i updated to Corona 5 has this problem occurred.

I am having to rebuild scenes from scratch to get them working which is taking up a lot my time during the day and isn't ideal.

Has anyone else had this issue? I am using Max 2019.

Thanks.

It really would help if you could send one of such scenes to support for investigation. https://corona-renderer.com/upload

Yep, as Romullus said, it would be great to investigate those scenes.
Just one idea - what is your RAM usage when UHD Cache calculation freezes? Is it possible that it's because of running out of RAM?

Hi Maru,

I also thought about the RAM but it levelled out at 9gb. I have 64gb installed.

I just uninstalled Corona 5 and went back to the last version of 4 and the scenes rendered perfectly straight away. So it does seem to be something related to Corona 5 and my setup.

I will try and upload a scene tomorrow.

Thanks.
