Hi.

When rendering, the noise level updates every 5 passes.  This is annoying if, for example, the last 3 passes of the render weren't needed because it reached the pass limit before then.

Is there any way to change the pass refresh amount... to something like 2?

Thanks

Yes, there is. Go to render setup>system>system settings and enable devel/debug mode, then in the performance tab, new development stuff rollout will appear. Open it and find adaptivity and denoising section. Here you can change how often adaptivity will recalculate, or even disable it altogether.

Do keep in mind that the 5 refreshes were chosen as an optimal balance. There is processing time involved in working that out, so doing it more often then every 5 may in fact result in a longer render time, as you will be doing that processing more often. We selected the default based on what we felt was the optimal value, for re-evaluating the noise level often enough that you weren't doing extra passes without doing it too often.
