Hello Corona Team,

Are you guys still implementing the DSLR style tone mapping in the upcoming version of corona or working on the color management system ?

I was hoping it would be just like camera Raw. Camera Raw is just perfect, was that the idea to have it like that?

Don’t get me wrong, but I don’t really understand why such color control is needed if we have editors like Photoshop and others. There are many more other features worth spending time on

For us any improvement in the VFB is pure gold.  We often try to avoid photoshop altogether unless there is entourage needed.  It would be nice to see some additional functionality to bloom and glare too.

Because it's a world of difference to see what your final render will look like in VFB compared to rendering then hoping for the best as you use an external application to get the look you wanted in the first place.  And.... Why not... It would only immensely increase the capability of Corona.

Just because there are so many basic features  like for example clipping material and geopattern and phoenixfd foam support and scatter pro, that we have been waiting for a very long time and which you cannot repeat using third-party applications. But i agree that extended functionality of bloom, glare and lens effects such as lens dust, chromatic aberations will be cool)

Sorry for the lack of updates so far. We are yet to plan our goals for V6, and as usual in such cases, some of our key team members are sick, others are on holidays, and so on. :)
The roadmap will be updated ASAP, and this thread as well!

I guess most of the people are getting confused with colour correction methods. I am talking about ACESlog support inside Corona or carrying out OCIO colour management system. Read these articles below to understand the potential of Colorspace/Tonemapper.

Thanks for those threads. We are aware in the interest and need for this. I have just made sure that everything is nicely logged in our internal trackers. (it is ;) )

yeah exactly, reworking tonemapping is actually priority number one right now. a commenter here says Photoshop suffices. I think once you realise what reworking tonemapping really means you'd want it more than anything else. thanks for the links they explain it really well.
Although a purist, my work is anything but.
