Issue 2: The viewport is not correctly updated after you change a parameter and then change the mode.
Repro steps:
- Plug noise map into the scale slot
- Change the noise map offset to 0.1
- Switch the Mode to random amount
- Change the noise map offset back to 0.0
- Switch the mode back to legacy
- Observe that the scattering is incorrect
- Hit Update Now
- Observe that the scattering is now correct
This! But the problem is, this isn't just viewport update thing. It happens in IR too and while "update now" updates viewport, it doesn't updates IR, which makes things even worse.
I quickly checked this, and isn't it just 3ds Max viewport screwing around with you? If you click on the small + sign in your perspective viewport > Configure Viewports... > Display Performance > disable "Improve Quality Progressively" - is it the same? Or is it fixed now?
That is strange, i always clear checkbox from updae viewports gradually after fresh max install, but for some reason it came back without my consent. Unchecking it only partially solves slow update issue after removing map - update is still slow, it's just there are no ghosting anymore.
