Hi Guys, for a project i need to create this material. Megascans doesn't have it yet :(
Does anyone have an idea to create it?

Do you need to be that up close to it in your renders? If not, I think you can get away with just slapping a diffuse texture and a slight amount of transparency?

A quick and dirty experiment with translucency and volumetrics. The two methods will give slightly different results, react different to lights, and volumetrics will render slower.
Maybe with a better texture it would be usable?

uh Maru. The right one looks nice.

Wouldnt it be ok to just ad some fur the the wool, just to get some hairs overlaping at the edges?

there are also old techniques of doing it like 'a-box-in-a-box' (babushka style) or 'crossed, multi-layered planes with alphas' (old school clouds) giving the illusion of depth
