Corona Converter - unable to use file after conversion

Working on a large file 300mb, with 1.5gb of xref links. After converting the file using the 'corona converter' I am unable to use the file. It takes along time just to do the conversion ~1hr,and is almost impossible to close the converter after the conversion is done, all i can do is hit ctrl+s and save the file and then try to re-open it - but after 30+mins the file will open and continously flash and i cannot use any 3dsmax functions without pressing the button continously, waiting for a moment between the 'thinking'.

vray can handle the file.

Is it the conversion which introduces problems into the file?
