Since installing max 2020 ive noticed that im having to end the max process alot more due to IR locking my computer up completely.
Im not sure why it would be but is anyone else having similar issues? It happens probably 1 in 3 times when im running IR and the cpu remains cranked to 100% but the max interface is completely locked as is the VFB. It never seems to unlock itself either regardless of how long it takes.

EDIT: It looks to be something to do with the nvidia denoiser not playing nicely with my system. Disabling fast preview removes the issue.

We will need more details - a sample scene, a minidump,....

What I am aware of is that IR now crashes if you reset your scene or load another scene while it's running. We already have it logged.

It honestly think its more a hardware limitation on my end. It seems to be something to do with the denoiser for certain as ive not had it happen without it enabled.
I think maybe its time to upgrade my system.

Ok, I am moving this to resolved then, but if you ever get some specific measurements, please share them with us and we will be happy to look into it.

No problem. It was definitely the denoiser. I think im at the limits of what my hardware can feasibly do. Running an interactive window and having the cpu try to feed the gpu with data too seems to be too much for the old gal. To the point ive had my monitors go blank while the gpu figures out what to do. Definitely need to save some money up for a shiny new threadripper build.
