hi guys,

I just want to ask something. when i\m using corona scatter and I scattered maybe 1 million grass for example. then when I render in maximum 1000 resolution it will be render. But when I make it a High resolution it will crash like 2500x2200.. can anybody explain why? Or anybody has the same experience like me? or maybe some old post here. I am already using corona in 5 months.. I use i5 Intel processor. 2 gb ATI radeon vga cad and 6gb memory. Hopefully someone can answer me why this is happening.. I forgot when I rendering Interiors I can render 3000x2600 resolution..

Thanks in advance. Especially to Ondra..

Regards,
Thruy

Do you use displacement in the scene?

well you've probably run out of memory, but only thing in scene that scales with resolution is the displacement. Other possibility is that the framebuffer itself is too big. Try changing its internal resolution to 1 in corona vfb settings

Can someone explain to me where I need to go into the VFB settings to change the res to 1 instead of 2?

Thanks, I'm still trying to learn to optimize my scenes in corona for lower memory usage.

Regarding this I have another Q as well: I read on the adesk forums somewhere that all texture formats are converted to .bmp format in the process and thus it wouldn't matter which format of texture you're using? They end up using the same amount of RAM?

Today I read on an evermotion "save memory in scene's" topic that it's better to use only jpg textures since it uses the lowest RAM print.

- Is this dependant on the render engine of is this a 3d studio max thing? I convert all my bitmaps to corona bitmaps in the end anyway, do i need to care what format of textures i use in Corona?

Grts

If I am not mistaken, the "Internal Res" setting is long gone.
