I am preparing a transparent ground material for the purposes of product rendering, you can see an example in the attached image. I have also attached a Max archive (.zip) with a material set-up.

However, I am not entirely clear on whether my implementation is accurate with respect to the reference. Please advise?

The problem I am having now is that if my implementation is correct, then how can you cut-out (fade) the reflection on the ground?

Except falloff is radial (blue), is there a way to get linear (red) falloff from the camera?

RGB offset to manipulate fade position
Corona Color Correct > curves > equalize

That's what I call self-support! :)

Another option would be probably using the Fresnel IOR for your reflective ground plane. (values closer to 1 mean less reflectivity on facing angles)

Yeah, I experimented with this and it is a good option too +1

I would say that a material like this one would be good to include in the material library, but due to the additional set-up required in the render setup dialog (overrides) it could cause some confusion for the uninitiated.
