Is there a way in Corona to view noise like there is in Octane when you use the adaptive sampler?

What do you mean by "viewing noise"? If there's noise which we know about, we immediately remove it. So there cannot be anythilg like a "noise" pass in principle.

If you mean something like "sampling focus" pass in Corona for 3ds Max - we don't have that in C4D now, but should add it in the newest version.

I know I can see a noise percentage in the VFB, but I'd like to see where the noisy areas are, something you can do in Octane.

Sharing an example image and "noise element" would be good, so we could see what you are referring to. It really does sound more like the sampling focus (ie, where the engine is spending most of its calculations, because that is a hard to sample area, which in turn means it is most likely to be a noisy area), but can't say for sure without seeing an example :)

Here's an image from how Octane visualizes the noise areas.

Yep, looks pretty much like the sampling focus pass to me.

So can I view that pass as the image is rendering?

Oh, sorry for that. I didn't realize I should add more information to the last answer. My mistake...

No, unfortunately, the sampling focus pass is not present in the C4D version for now. But we have it in the roadmap for version 5, so it will appear in one of the daily builds.
