Hi all,
I was playing around with Corona 4 to try caustics. Despite all the tests I've made I can't get the result.
Caustics don't show up. I've set up a simple scene:
- plane and backdrop
- solid glass sphere + prism
- direct light (tried sun / light / Ies)
- checked "ENABLED" caustic solvers under Settings > Performance
- Material is the Corona Library glass, checked the "CAUSTICS (slow)" button
- Checked "Generate Caustics" in every light i tried.
- tried to increase Max Sample Intensity over 100 (Performance > Speed vs Accuracy balance)

In the attached image caustics should be show up.
What am I missing or doing wrong?

It should be as easy as enabling caustics in the render settings (and setting materials to 'caustic' for refractive materials) - you've done everything there is to do... I just tried and it just works...
Did you try different lighting conditions? Sometimes, caustics only give a faint effect depending on the light's angle.

BTW, you don't need to touch the MSI parameter, caustics are designed to work with the default value.

Hi,
Probably the best way to find a problem, is to attach the scene. Someone could pick it up and spot if there's wrong setup or anything else.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

Thanks Pokoy,
Yes, I tried different types of light (Sun, plane, IES),  put them in different poistions and change value.
Just wanted to be sure i didn't di anything wrong.
I'll keep playing with values and positions.

If you want the caustics to show up in the Beauty pass you can uncheck "Only in caustics element" box.

And also make sure light source is strong enough to give caustic effect.

Rabbsan, unchecking ONLY AUSTICS IN ELEMENT did the trick, thank you!
