Thanks man! Yea the wood is super flat, this is still a WIP. I'm realizing more that a lot of the 'realness' in a shot comes from the material. I find myself overlighting a scene to make up for bad textures, when I need to just get a correct texture. This becomes really important with close-up photography. I'm glad that Substance and Quixel are tackling this issue, I just wish I had more time to dedicate to that.
One thing that's really helped me I recently learned with materials is to keep the reflection and gloss values at 1.0 and control the value via maps. That and keeping the IOR between 1.333 and 1.5 for non-metals.
