The Corona round edges map has never worked properly for me. Even from a distance the hard edge is totally visible and the effect looks like crap.
What am I doing wrong?

Check the scale of your scene is my first thought. Looks to me like the Radius is just way too large, so you could just reduce that in the shader, but it could also be that your cube is only 1mm wide depending on the Max scene scale so that might be a more accurate place to look to fix the scale of the scene for reasons of other things being dependent on that for accuracy.

How big is your box? Unless it's 200 cm or more, then your rounded edge radius is much to large. Try to set it to 0,1 or even 0,02. But of course that largely depends on the size of your box.

Edit: just noticed, it's 30 cm. Yep the radius is too large, you need to reduce it to get meaningful result. If you want 1 cm bevel, then use geometric chamfer instead.
