Hey. Would like to make a proposal for Corona: do Nvidia Propose to Denoise a preview of the materials there, in my opinion would look good.

We were having some discussions about it, but most probably it would result in really bad performance - i.e. start the denoiser, feed the data, render output. The material editor in 3ds Max can be really slow already (thanks Autodesk!), especially when dealing with many materials, and adding denoising could potentially increase the slowdown. Additionally, the material previews look good enough already, and if needed, their quality can be adjusted in the System Settings.

But sure, if more users are interested in it, we may try it at some point.

For me material previews are only needed to identify material. I would set its rendering quality to even lower than default... if only Corona would be more friendly towards users preferences.

Hmm, what exactly do you mean by that?

I mean that if you want to save defaults, you have to go to render setup>system tab, open system settings, unhide dev rollout, then go to perf tab for that dev rollout and then you can save defaults. And you have to repeat those steps almost every single time you install new daily build. Over time it gets quite annoying and you simply stop using custom defaults :/

Well, you can just go to Render Setup > System > System settings and change the meditor preview quality in there. It's a system setting, so no need to save defaults.

Anyway, the main request here is probably not going to be considered anytime soon, so moving to resolved.
