Hello everyone!
I'm planning to build a new machine to use for my daily work which is mainly rendering using Vray/Corona .
Here are the specs that  I'm planning to buy  and I would like to know your thoughts about it as I'm totally noob when it comes to hardware  =D :

MB: Asus ROG ZENITH EXTREME
CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX
VGA: ASUS ROG-STRIX-RTX2080TI-O11G
RAMs :2xTeam T-Force Night Hawk RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3000
SSD: Samsung 970 PRO 512GB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD (MZ-V7P512BW)
HHD: WD 4TB WD4002FYYZ Gold HDD
Case: NZXT Phantom 820 CA-PH820-M1 Matte Black
Cooling: Cooler Master Wraith Ripper
PSU  Cooler Master V1200
Total price: 6500 $

Some of these items are available here in the market  (Lebanon), but for most of them I will need to buy from Amazon so there is additional cost about ~1000$ for shipping, VAT ..etc.
I've read some of the threads here, but to be honest it made me feel more lost than before :-))
Any suggestion/comments for these specs is highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))

All looks good,

I would say if you aren't on a 10GBE network you could consider swapping;
MB
Asus ROG ZENITH EXTREME > Taichi

Then other suggestions;

Cooler
Cooling: Cooler Master Wraith Ripper > Personally I use Noctua for every build - U14S TR4

Ram
Would consider using Corsair CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz

There are lots of threads with similar specs, have a look around. You cost seems a lot higher than I would make a similar machine for.

Thank you Charlie for the thorough answer!

MB :
Yes I'm not on a 10GBR network .
Is your suggestion is purely because of the price, or there is any known issue with the current selection?
and could you please be more specific about which MB from Taichi that you are referring here? I found x399 x470 z370 ...etc (As I've mentioned I'm totally new to all these hardware thing =D )

Cooler :
I see many people mentioning this one so I will look into it

Ram :
Someone mentioned that to me  "4 RAM sticks will work best for quad channel" and suggested to go with the following: G.skill tridentZ RGB 3200 MHz, so what do you think?

I will dig more into the forum to see how far I can go before my mind start melting :-)

Thank you again and I really appreciate your valuable help here!

Its Taichi x399 all the other codes you mention are socket related so its another platform like z370 which is for Intel. As for the motherboard I wouldn’t bother with anything except the MSI MEG Creation and the Aorus Extreme. You have the main 2990wx thread with more then 17 pages about this so be sure to check it out.

Some people tend to advise the Taichi and yes they are good and yes I have 2 of those both the x299 and the x399 variant but for 2990wx or 2970wx msi and gigabyte is only viable option right now. Taichi tends to pass all the torture tests from the reviewers online but apparently it is said that AsRock has diasabled the VRM sensors making it reset evry time it hits the termal limit so its not crashing but its actually burning non stop. This might be some bad marketing lies but I wouldnt bother with 8 phase mobos at all..

As for rest od the build all looks ok, yes you could save se money on gpu if you care about that but if you don’t go for it. Personally I have 1050ti, 1060, 1070, 1080, 1080ti and since I only use Cpu rendering with Corona I have never felt the difference between the best 1080ti and the cheapest 1050ti :).
