what is the general policy of using downloaded preview .jpg of a print or art in 3D? commercial, non-commercial?

for example using a print from here https://theposterclub.com/ in a 3D render or from a similar website or idk pinterest.

is it illegal?

I should presume so.

Find art with Creative Commons licence. I'm fairly sure that should be fine to use in renders.

Otherwise, get explicit permission from the copyright holder.
