Im looking at doing some cinemagraphs and id like to have a play with doing some rippling lake water. I have played around with various levels of noise and things but its never quite right.
Has anyone got any good methods for doing anything similar?

Thanks im looking for more of a complex ripple, like one that conforms to the landscape with ripples that follow the bank of the lake.
Im thinking perhaps it could be done with a pretty complex material tree

Without knowing more, not sure, but the CoronaDistance map could prove very useful for the case of having ripples (or other changes to the material) conform to a shoreline etc. Some simple example scenes at https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000017221-what-is-corona-distance-map- (just in case you don't already have those and they provide a good starting point).
