Maybe this can help? https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000039642-what-is-the-coronauvwrandomizer-map-
The last picture shows example of using uvw randomizer.

In that example, off set and scale is in CM or Feet or Meters or its texture repetition....?
- Off set goes from -xxxxx to xxxxxx unlimited numbers.
-Scale 1 by 1 is reduced size and 5 by 5 or 10 by 10 also reduces the texture size, 0.xxx  is enlarged size, and 0 by 0 is nothing... what is actual size figure....?

Thanks.

Tried that but no joy, assumed I was doing something silly? maybe those settings don't transfer to C4d - will keep trying.... thanks!

Offset is in UV space, rotation is in degrees and scale is in percentage.

To Corona team - i think tooltips, explaining the units, could be added to UVW randomizer UI. I use that map too infrequently, to find that i constantly forget what units are being used.

Unfortunately, as much as we'd love them all around the plugin, tooltips are not possible in C4D. :-(

At least you could add them in 3ds max, because at the moment, they are not there.

Sorry... I think I was not clear to make you understand or some where I was not....!

In this example, U & V - 2 to 2 moved.... 2 is what, points, cm, feet...?
U Scale: 80 to 120% enlarged if I am correct. If it is then 3 by 3 is reduced size, not scale enlarged....!

Thanks.

As i said, offset is performed in UV space (you can call it texture repetition, if you like). It has a range 0 - 1 (or -1 - 1 if you want offset in both directions). That means consistent result no matter what your texture resolution and object size are.

Regarding scale, it looks that it was replaced by tiling in C4D, but title "scale" was carried from 3ds max. I think it should either be made the same between the apps, or correct terminology should be used. By entering 3 in both from and to fields, you're effectively tiling your texture 3 times.

Hope it's more clear now.

Hmm, yes, this seems to be a bug! Thanks!

Actually no! In 3DSMax, the scale parameter behaves the same! Only it shows as percent instead of dimensionless units, which is pretty weird and inconsistent with the rest of the parameters if you ask me...

So from my point of view, there is no bug right now. Or do I understand it incorrectly?

Hmm, you're right, scaling is actually tiling in 3ds max too. I didn't even notice that before. IMHO, UI still has to be slightly altered - scaling should be renamed to tiling in both apps and tiling units should be changed in 3ds max, so no tiling should be equal to 1 and not to 100.

Thanks... clear and no confusion.
Name have to reset... Scaling to Tilling, because its tilling... not scaling (this was the confusion).

Thanks.
