Hi Forum!

I am learning how to use the node based material set up at the moment and have a question. I use PixPlant3 to create my texture which output all the relevant parts (diffuse, specular, normal, ao and displacement). I have worked out were most go but not sure what slot the AO goes into? Have I set it up properly? Any help would be appreciated 😎🙏 Also, is there a good video tut on node setups and workflow? Thanks! John.

Remove specular from reflection and leave it at pure white. If you use displacement and and normal map together, you may wnat to slightly decrease strength of the latter. Make sure that you load diffuse texture with gamma 2.2 and other maps with gamma 1.0 (linear). You can blend AO and diffuse maps through CoronaMix node, to get some ambient shadows, but since pseudo texture generators like pixplant almost never completely eleiminates micro shadows from diffuse texture, i suggest to leave AO map out.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

Hi Romullus,

Thank you for clarifying this. I was a bit curious what to do with the AO. Also, thanks for the info on gamma settings. Never thought of touching this. I don't suppose you know of a good video tutorial on using nodes? Thanks! 👍🙏 John

also check preference in pixplant, make sure what it's export normals for 3dsmax
You do not need tutorials just plug in nodes and adjust settings, they are just showing you a tree and other works the same way. Though it's 3ds max forum so you may ask in c4d section.
