Hi i have a question about consider to go for an animation need to decide CPU or GPU, i know they are different methods to resolve an image, so in terms what would you decide CPU or GPU?, i am Fstorm user i have render an image HD 1920x1080 interior in 5 min with 2 GTX1080, now it seems to have a little bit of noise so with corona have denoiser with bump implemetation how many CPU cores do ineed to render an image interior prefer HD in less than 5 min, i have seen bench mark but i can only afford AMD THREAD RIPPER 1950x twice talking about to consider buying two of them.

So in conclusion 32 cores 64 threaded would be fine to render any interior scene in less than 5 min?

Thankyou for your responses.

hmm... A interior with a teapot and no glossy/reflective materials will always render faster than a complex interior scene with lots of reflections, refraction and translucency etc.

In other words: your question can't be answered, since render time always relates to the scene complexity. Having said that, Threadripper 1950x sure is a very fast CPU when it comes to rendering, but note that you can't have 2 of them in 1 machine.

Why not wait for Threadripper 2 with 32 cores coming out in August?

Hi thanks but i attached the image this is fstorm,  I'm taking about an animation with reflections, refractions in other words a complete complex scene, now since I don't have many cores but anyone who has the experience to tell how many cores need to render an animation will be appreciated,  i have a budget for two Amd thread ripper with motherboard not in one motherboard because AMD Epic I can't afford it for now.

You can also compare how various CPUs are performing at https://corona-renderer.com/benchmark/ and then decide which one would have the best budget/performance ratio for you.
