Can anyone show me how the radius map affects round edges? I cant seem to figure out what you use it for.

The rounded edge's radius is altered according to the map's intensity/lightness. Sometimes the effect is hardly noticeable and you need to play with output intensity or min/max values (if it's a noise for example). It's pretty self explanatory once you play with it.

I tried with the noise map but didnt see much difference. Will keep trying

Especially with noise you need to play with min/max and output to get something noticeable.

not exactly, it gives some variations of fake chamfer shape.  in my example round edge is 0.2cm and map is just noise map(0.5 size value if i am not mistaken)

Would be great if the corona team could chime in with some useful explanations / examples of the feature (This is exactly the kind of thing that made me make such a fuss about online training materials)

Just wanted to note, that the round edge map does work in other slots, and therefore can be put in the diffuse slot, and shown in IR. This makes it easier to understand what happens when you tweet it.

The rounded edges map slot works by using the grey scale values in your map to determine visible radius size, up to the limit you set in the spinner.

white = the radius size you set in the spinner
black = 0 rounded edges

You can see this when you apply a gradient map in the slot. The closer it is to black, the smaller the radius becomes.
