Sorry if this issue was already discussed, but I did not find the answer.
Why doesn't it work in Corona 2?

What is the Missing Material? Only the base VRayMtl is supported for now (until later versions of Corona), and other things like double sided or blend is not supported - however, those are usually listed in the error message while this says "Missing Material". Any chance of a look at the material editor for those materials?

Also what is your set up - which version of Corona 2, which version of Max, is V-Ray not installed, is it installed but not licensed, which version of V-Ray, etc. There is never such a thing as too much detail :)

I didn't install Vray for the test. It is stated that now it is not necessary.
I have a 3DMax 2018 and a licensed Corona Candidate 2.
I can show the material editor later.

Yep V-Ray isn't necessary, but it's good to know what your set up was when testing. Will wait for the grab of the mat editor, cheers!

Hmm that still doesnt tell me what the materials are - can you upload the scene? Are they just VRayMtls (and if so, how were they created, did they come with the asset?) You can use the private uploader (https://corona-renderer.com/upload) to upload the scene, then we can take a look and see what those materials are.

It's just a TV model. I opened it on another computer (3dmax 2018) with Vray(3.60.03), Corona(1.7) installed. Here is a screenshot. It's just Vray mtl.

My guess is that those materials were created with too old version of V-Ray. It is best to use the newest one for best compatibility.

omg... I took the first model I got. Such a problem with any Vray model. With Russian and English and Chinese, etc.

ok. Why do I need the vray mtl support function if it does not work with older models?

There are various reasons (such as companies not having to worry about whether to hire Corona artist or Vray artists, or which engine to buy), and also this is just the beginning - it will be much more useful in the future.

Yes, but they said "Render VRayMtl and VRayLight without conversion (even if V-Ray is not installed!)".

Yes, that's true. But the assets need to be created using a specific version of V-Ray. If they are too old, it won't work.
Imagine some 3d application, which can open .max files. It could work with files saved with 3ds Max 2019, but might not work with those saved with 3ds Max 2008.

But this is a very important point that will mislead users. How do I understand what version the model should be if it is not mentioned anywhere?
I have thousands of models from Vray, and all are made in different versions. How in this case to understand what the Corona understands and which does not?
