Just wondering if there would be any benefit in going with a card like the quadro P1000 over a 1050Ti in a AMD TR 1950x/64Gb build.
The computer will serve as a render node for a while before becoming a workstation down the track...

any advice is greatly appreciated.

Generally? No, the feature benefits vs cost for a Quadro over a Geforce card do not matter outside of scientific calculation (anymore).

For Corona? No, except a GPU implementation of the Denoiser and all CFB effects that is planned sometime down the road Corona uses no GPU in it's feature set in any way.

As a workstation? The quadro benefit for viewport is there, but I don't see it justifying the cost. Once you actually look at price vs renderspeed on the actual render, not viewport (like vray, octane), the GeForce card wins.
