Hello all
I'm new with Corona but want to learn ! I have seen so many amazing images here and think this renderer is a huge one. I have a really nice appreciation on the works of Juraj and Michael in particular... but many images here are great, so I hope to get those talents in mine in the future !
Your critics if you have time to...
Thanks to the developers :)

Hi all
Some other new renders. I've tried so many settings but I'm sure basic ones are the best except for the PT/HD that I've adopted for the interior/exterior renders.
I've noticed that high quality renders in the Corona Frame buffer are very noisy (especially for the specular shaders) and not when you open it in photoshop... is it normal ?
I find the way to work, i don't know why, with the interior scenes much easy than the exterior, and all the renders in the gallery, except a few ones, give me reason.

Nice to see you Roland !
Nice set of images.
Only pt+hd ? All rest by default ?
Love how corona manage lighting in all scene and how the setting are easy. Especially for highlight and exposure in real time.
Actually i work on a scene with vray and this is ssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long..........................

Can you provide an example of where vfb image has different noise than opened in photoshop? Maybe you are saving with different gamma? (this happens for example if you have output gamma 2.2 in max and save to .exr or .hdr with default settings)

Try switching to pt+pt when rendering exterior scenes without lots of GI bounces going on. Maybe you will feel more comfortable this way but it still depends on your scene. :)

Hi Maru
Here is and example of the Frame Buffer (left) and the final image (crop, right) opened in Photoshop. I don't know if it is very visible, but in the FB it's always more grainy, and i really don't know exactly when i have to stop my render...
I have a good output gamma, and I only save, in these case, in a JPG format.
I'm now trying to use PT+PT for the exterior renderings.
Thanks for your help :)

For Aurelarchi
Salut Aurélien :)
Yes only PT+HD (but as says Maru, I'm trying PT+PT for exterior...)
All the rest of the settings are default except PT samples (8 or 16 it depends), and MSI (20).
good luck with VRay :)

It looks like the problem is just by comparing original image to a blurred, lower-quality jpeg. Try to save in a lossless format (PNG) and then compare.

You're right and not keymaster. I'm sure of me but I've not the FB I've done this morning : it was a "night" render (6000pix, to try) and I'm working on other view at the moment. But i repeat, the FB was very grainy with the specular shaders, especially with the concrete I've posted.
Anyway it seems that the problem is resolved : i can't reproduce it now, after having changed the Max ray depht from 25 to 30 and the PTS from 8 to 16 and saved as PNG. Don't know if the problem was from here, have to render again with a big resol...

Apart from .jpg compression I can see your image's scale in vfb is 1:2 which means we are looking at it downsampled. Corona's vfb probably handles downsampling (zooming out) different than photoshop. Maybe this is your problem?

Maybe it is Maru. I don't found any else solution since I've posted this morning, so i think it was because I had a big resolution render and because I have reduce the window in my screen...
A question to the developers : is it possible to adjust automatically the FB to the window of the screen ?

Um.. So you can just compare two 1:1 images.

yep, Corona framebuffer does very simple downscaling of images, so it will look different, and more noisy, when zoomed out. You can try the native Max framebuffer, it should behave exactly the same.

I am also 100% sure neither PTS nor max ray depth won't change the image blur.

Hello !
I've made some tests to see what's the difference between VRay and Corona. It seems that is more easier to light a scene with Corona and that the shaders are easier to do with a real coronaMTL, instead of a direct converter file.

Certainly Polymax, I have not an old experience with Corona, so I think it could be better. Maybe you can give some advices for this ?
