Author Topic: corona bitmap just loading with incorrect gamma  (Read 3049 times)

For some reason corona bitmaps have just started loading as very very dark halfway through my day.
Not entirely sure whats going on but it appears to be a gamma issue. Any ideas what i may have done?

Go to C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\201x - 64bit\ENU\en-US\defaults\*yourDefaultsName open currentDefaults.ini in notepad, scroll down almost to the end and look for inputGamma and outputGamma entries. Both should be set to 2.2 If it isn't, change it, save the file and restart 3ds max.

Normal bitmap nodes load the texture fine

Even the bitmap nodes in the presets are doing this. Still havent figured out why.

Especially check points 3 and 4.

If that does not help, pleas send:
1) Screenshot of your 3ds max gamma settings (customize > preferences > gamma and lut)
2) Your CurrentDefaults.ini file found in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2015- 64bit\ENU\en-US\defaults
