Hi,

I was wondering does corona render some kind of AO in renders even if I am not using AO pass. Many times I get much darker shadow area where wall and roof intersects. It looks like AO shadow. In some pics it's not so visible and in some pics it's quite distracting.

Could you show some examples of such "AO affected" corners? To my best knowledge, Corona doesn't add any artificial AO to its GI solution.

There is no AO rendered or used unless it is used as a separate pass, or used in a material with the CoronaAO map. Some image examples showing results, and something that shows the scene set up (materials, position of lights - the scene itself even) would be good, to see the effect you are referring to.

The question here is what exactly are we calling "AO"? :)

In real life there is less light in areas where two surfaces are close to each other, and Corona simulates this realistically. Some users may not be familiar with this effect, as other render engines may be heavily biased, and spaces between surfaces may be brighter there.

I am pretty sure it's just that. Though still when doing arch viz I am pretty sure some surfaces that are close each other does not have so dark "corner" in real life.
