Hi,

After few IR or Renders "Clear Cache" message getting most of times. 800+ GB space free and its full in that... how it works, keeping all temp files and deleting when c4d quit...?

Thanks.

What is your hard drive limit set to for the cache (the settings in C4D)?

Yep that's the one, as it's possible to set a limit there which could cause it to fill up. How much space is it taking up on the HD when you get the message?

Not sure at this point if it's just a C4D thing (e.g. the images in the PV use up the Cache) rather than something Corona specific - will leave it to the developers to ask the right questions about that :) But clearing the C4D cache comes up as a question a fair bit (with a Google search) irrespective of render engine used.

No idea how much cache spacing taking but this message never came earlier, even system is on since weeks with many picture views.... in Corona it appears after few IR or renders...!

Could be because every time IR is started, it adds a new image to the PV history, filling up the PV much faster than you might normally fill it up. You could find where C4D is storing the Cache files, and check how large they are. And you could try clearing out the PV history regularly to see if that is where the majority of the cache is coming from. I was always surprised to see just how much history the PV was storing :) There are probably settings for that too, to control how much history it will store.

(The PV history would also be larger if you are storing multipass renders, such as using LightMix etc., as it would be storing a copy of each of those for each one entry in the history)

Today I found some unwanted 30 files in Corona History folder, around 12 GB CXR files.
I don't think I paused or saved files during render... when Corona creates these files....?

Thanks.

For me the Corona History folder only adds a file when I add it to the VFB History. If I delete the file from the VFB History, it gets deleted from disk. If I close C4D without deleting the VFB history, it does delete them from disk. I think only if C4D crashes then it wouldn't delete them on shutdown - otherwise, they should be deleting automatically already (they are here).
