Hi all,

I'm fairly new to the Corona band wagon but one thing that I found odd while installing it on my workstation and render nodes was how slow the installation server is. One has to download 546mb of 'additional installer data' many times because it's not included in the installer, and you need it for every render node. It is currently taking about 2-3 hours per system to install Corona.

Why exactly?
Why wouldn't it all just be in the installer like all other installers?

This wouldn't be an issue if the server wasn't running at dial-up pace (I'm in Australia, which may be relevant) but given how slow it is it would be a big favor if I could just download the necessary content one time and deploy it across my network :-)

Just a thought / gripe, not a big deal but would be great for future releases for us far down south!

Thanks guys :-)

What Cecofuli linked is the way to download the additional files separately, and then deploy them when needed. Basically it's just the material library.
You can also safely skip this step during the installation.
