whenever i want to use corona camera, do i need to select Use photographic exposure under post processing in the camera tab in render settings?

No, you can use simple or photographic exposure from the VFB together with camera and of course you can override exposure and control it from camera.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

I think the easiest explanation is that the Corona Camera always has the highest priority, so if you enable something in the Corona Camera (with an override checked if needed), then you can forget about any other settings.
