I'm not sure if folks post issues for C4D in here, but here is mine. I have seen a couple of posts on removing flicker, but I either have tried what was suggested, or don't understand some of the options suggested. Here is a rendered example of my issue and the project file (R17). There is crazy amounts of flicker in the blanket.

I thought maybe the reflection, bump, or displacement was the issue, removed those and still got flicker. I tried the "Flicker-free" animation preset where it rendered the UHD every time, still flicker.

Some people mentioned doing PT + PT. I honestly am not sure what that means...

Would Volumetrics have something to do with it? I have that checked, but could probably do without...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And please explain it to me like a 3rd grader. I am very new to Corona. Thanks!

This is definitely UHD Cache flickering.

Setting it to "animation" preset should solve the issue. Are you sure it did not help?
If there are no moving objects or lights in your scene, you can also bake the UHD Cache and re-use it for all frames:
-Corona > UHD Cache
-Precomputation: calculate from scratch, after render: save, make sure that the filename path is correct
-start rendering any frame, then stop rendering once the UHD Cache calculation is done
-then change precomputation to: load from file
From now on the single UHD Cache should be used for all frames, and thus there should be no flickering.

Moving to bugs as UHD Cache should never flicker in animation mode.

ok, keep everything else the same? "Precision", etc? Did my other render settings seem ok?

I tested the scene by swapping it from "Animation Flicker Free" to "Still Frame" - both results seem the same, which could mean that the "Animation Flicker Free" setting may not be working?

I am testing now, and I think doing the "load from file" option is working. About 1 sec of animation done and it looks like the flicker is gone. fingers crossed.  thanks for the help.

Still, the flicker-free animation preset should work too!

The fix should appear in one of the release candidates soon.

Rendered the first few frames of this scene in RC3, and problem appears to be resolved - I could see noticeable flicker in those frames in the last version, but not with RC3, so even though it was just a few frames it looks like all should be fixed!
